With over two decades of experience, Jean-Claude is determined to providing the best living conditions for Congolese people by implementing better policies for basic public services: health, school, public transport and the distributive justice of the resources of the country.

Impossible is not Congolese

WHERE HE COMES FROM

A proud Congolese native, Jean-Claude Baende was born in Basankusu to Matthieu Baende Bonyongo and Margueritte Lingandju Bombaka. Growing up in the Province of Equateur, he developed a strong sense of community and eagerness to make an impact. Jean-Claude quickly learned that strong faith and hard work are pivotal to a successful career. Determined to improve the conditions of his surroundings, he dedicated his career to addressing the needs of Congolese people.

After studying Theology at the Catholic University of Kinshasa, he was directed by his Bishop to continue his studies in Belgium. There, he obtained a Bachelor in Labor Sciences and Diploma of Specialized Studies in Human Resources management at the Université Libre of Brussels in 2001.

A THRIVING CAREER

Driven by the degree of poverty amongst the Congolese population, Jean-Claude began his political career with hopes of improving the quality of life throughout the country. In 2004, he founded the political party “l’Alliance des Démocrates Humanistes.” This party strives to put the needs of the Congolese population first. Jean Claude has dedicated his career towards addressing the needs of Congolese people: investing in public school systems, building infrastructure for healthcare, creating new jobs, modernizing cities.

Throughout his political career, Jean-Claude has served as Provincial Deputy for the City of Mbandaka, Vice Governor of the Province of Equateur, and Governor of the Province of Equateur. While serving as Governor, he was also elected as the National Deputy for the city of Mbandaka. In March 2013, he resigned from his position as Governor due to his refusal to get involved in the embezzlement of public funds and corruption. In 2018, he was re-elected as Provincial Deputy and National Deputy for the city of Mbandaka.
